Author´s Note: I´m not a native, and it took me a long time to write this, but i´m really proud that i finished it. I hope you like, its my first rps and it´s also very simple written.
Cinema Night
- Hey Van, wanna see the new zombie movie?
meet me at 8 pm at the cinema, JAKE
- VANS POV -
As I arrived at the cinema, I saw him. He looked so gorgeous in his dark blue jeans and his white shirt.
This wasn't a date I told myself, but it wasn't easy to believe it when you had a big crush on your coworker and best friend.
Ohh, he is coming, my palms are sweaty and my heart is beating faster. Don't do this to yourself Van, it's a simple crush, don't make a big deal about it.
I greeted Jake in our normal way of saying hello and then we headed into the cinema
I told him to wait in the hall, because I was needing a run to the bathroom.
I went to the sink to check my hair, I did this everytime in the cinema, I just wanted to look good.
And then a familiar man stepped next to me, at first I thought I was dreaming, but then I realized that my ex-boyfriend Shaun was standing right there next to me..
"Oh god, hey Shaun, what are you doing here?"
I was surprised, I never expected to see my ex boyfriend in the men's room of the cinema.
"Oh my god Van, how are you?" Shaun was surprised as Van
"Great, how are you? What are you doing here?
"I'm doing fine, man it's been a while, actually I'm here to see the new movie, with the zombies." His ex boyfriend turned to him and gave him a friendly hug.
Shaun looked good, we hadn't seen each other since we broke up a year ago. After that he was in very bad shape, and a wreck.
"The new zombie movie, really? I'm here with a friend to watch the movie." Van answered Shaun´s question
"A friend or your boyfriend, come on Van, I'm not angry at you anymore." Shaun grinned
"No, he's not my boyfriend, he's my coworker and my best friend on As the World Turns."
How could I tell Shaun, that I had a big crush on Jake for months?
"Oh, yes I heard about that show, the Luke and Noah story seems very successful." Shaun went to the sink, washing his hands.
"Yes that's true, and Jake and I are very happy to be a part of that." He said proud, handing Shaun a paper tissue.
- JAKES POV -
Where is he, what took him so long in that damn badroom, my feet tapped nervously on the blue carpet. I was nervous about the upcoming evening. I had planned a little picnic afterwards, and a confession. A confession that you did not do every day, especially when it is a love confession, to your very best friend.
And so it was Me, Jake Silbermann, was going to tell Van how much I liked him, that I wanted to be with him, and that I thought I had fallen for him weeks ago.
It was a big step and hopefully it would work out for both of us.
Jake looked around the hall and took a seat.
And then I saw two men, one man was familair to me, but the other.....who the hell was the other? Van never mentioned a boyfriend in the last few months.
Could it be Shaun? Van's ex-boyfriend? Van's description fit perfectly. Hopefully it's not him. I hated him, when he was with Van.
It was a year ago, and things between me and Van were complicated. Van was often busy and around the time he broke up with Shaun he hadn't been doing his best work.
But the saddest thing about it, was the lack of time, that we spent together.
Van and Shaun came closer and soon they were shaking hands and a look of fake amusement was on Jake's face.
"This is Shaun Miller, my ex-boyfriend, we met in the men's room." said Van as he introduced the two men.
Ha i knew it, this is the Shaun guy, 100 points for me.
"And this is Jake Silbermann, my coworker and my best friend." Van wished he could introducing Jake as his new boyfriend.
"Hey Shaun nice to meet you, I saw you at the Emmy's last year." Jake acted friendly and he was so good at that
"Nice to meet you too, Jake or should I call you Noah." He laughed a little
"Ha, Ha, no that's just my stage name." Jake tried to ignore the joke
Did he think that was funny???
Van was glancing at the two men as the conversation progressed. It was obvious to him, that Jake seemed to be annoyed by Shaun's attitude.
He had never wanted Jake to think that he invited Shaun on purpose, he wasn't so happy either that they'd met Shaun here. He suggested that they should move on and enjoy the evening, even with Shaun's presence.
"I met Shaun in the mens room, how weird is that?" Van said to Jake
"Yeah really weird" Jake replied
"By the way, Shaun wants to see the new zombie movie too, and since he's not with anyone, I asked if he wanted to join us." Van hoped Jake would be okay with that
Jake was surprised. How could Van invite Shaun, when it was Jake who had invited Van in the first place. It was the last thing Jake wanted to do.
All Jake wanted was to spend the evening with Van, watching a horror movie and sitting close to his best friend in the dark.
And now this Shaun guy would join them and ruin everything.
But Jake didn't protest, he wanted Van to be happy and if that would include Shaun, he was okay with it.
What Jake didn't know was, that Van also didn't want Shaun here. But Van was always too friendly and couldn't say no to his friends or ex-boyfriends.
"Guys, I really don't want to interrupt," Shaun felt Jake's jealousy
Great, then go away, and never come back
"No you wouldn't be, come and join us." Van said "I'll go for the tickets, be back in five minutes."
Van made a move and headed away
Shit, Van don't leave me alone with this guy!!!!!!!!!
"So,how is it working with Van, he must be gorgeous." Shaun said.

Jake didn't particularly want to make conversation with Shaun but he answered him anyway. He started to used his usual interview answers.
"Yes its absolutely awesome to work with him, he's such a creative guy with so much passion, I can't imagine a better coworker for me."
Shaun nodded and smiled, Jake didn't know if it was a real smile or a fake one.
"And how is it for a straight guy like you, to kiss an official gay guy?" His tone went curious
How could he ask this question???
"Well, you know it's acting, I do my job and Van and I are friends, it's not as awkward for me, as it was in the beginning, I trust Van completely."
Jake wondered about his own words, he never wanted to tell Shaun so much about his and Van's relationship. Maybe Shaun would understand now how deep the friendship was.
"Oh, I have no idea how I would feel about that, I mean if I had to kiss a woman in one of my Broadway plays, I would probably freak out." Shaun chuckled
"Try it, you get used to it, the more that you do it." Jake said
"Thanks man, oh hey Van is coming." Shaun looked straight at Van.
The three of them found their seats in the huge cinema, it was extremely dark, only the lights on the floor helped them.
Jake was glad that Van took the middle seat, so he got the chance to sit next to Van.
Both guys soon fell into a deep conversation, Shaun looked at them and felt like that he didn't belong.
Man, those guys have a connection, did they forgot, that I'm here too?
"Hey Shaun, do you think the main character will die at the end?" Van asked his ex
"No I don't think so, it'd be boring, if that happened." He took a sip from his coke
Finally the three guys chatted a little, until the commercial appeared on the screen.
"Shhhhhh, it's starting." A woman shouted from behind
After the first two commercials, Jake felt safe in the dark, so he took a glance at Van and sighed.
"Mmmmh, he looks so cute, when he's really into a movie" Jake thought.
Van noticed Jake's dreamy look on him and looked him right in the eyes.
"Hey Jake, everything alright?" Van turned his attention to his acting partner
"Oh yeah, its... its just." Jake blushed
"Will you two just shut up, I want to see the upcoming trailer for Car Hell." Shaun said, not angry, but Van and Jake seemed to misunderstand his joke.
The movie was scary and thrilling, but there were a few funny moments in it.
"Ohhh, the zombies are coming." Shaun screamed loudly, "I've never felt so scared." Van knew that Shaun wanted some attention from him and played his game.
"What, a zombie?" Van asked on purpose
And then suddenly an ugly, green zombie appeared on the big screen in front of them, and Van got a really huge shock.
Van was so shocked and scared that he had to grip Jake's hand for support, Jake looked at his hand, which was now in Van's.
He was suddenly feeling hot, and a little bit uncomfortable in his skin, but he held Van's hand and rubbed his thumb over Van's sensitive skin.
Van thought it was a nice gesture, but at the same time totally intimate and romantic.
Van took comfort in Jake and couldn't pull away from him. He didn't know, if Jake felt the same way about him. But he needed the support from Jake and especially the heat.
Shaun noticed the thing between the young actors and his thoughts became clearer and clearer.
He was absolutely sure that his ex had feelings for Jake, he had known Van since high school and saw love when he looked in Van's eyes.
Mmh must be more than friendship, and this Jake guy, he didn't seem straight to me. How he looked at Van. Man if I were Van , I'd already be dating him.
After Van calmed a little bit down, his gaze wandered again to Jake's eyes. Jake's gaze was trained on Van's too.
Van looked away embarrassed.
"Sorry" he murmured "I'm such a idiot"
Jake took the chance and slide his fingers up Vans arm and his finger sliding under Van's chin.
"No you're not" he replied shyly
Van was now totally calm and felt hot and tingly around Jake
Is he going to...., he wouldn't..... not here in the cinema..., not with Shaun next to us.......and if he does....Van's head started to spin, he couldn't think anymore, the only thought that existed was Jake and his soft fingers grazing his skin.
The cinema seemed forgotten, the movie seemed forgotten, even Shaun seemed forgotten
Van started to tilt his head closer to Jake, He took a deep breath, still enjoying the rubbing and the good feeling that came with it.
"Do you feel better?" Jake asked coming closer. If it was possible.
"Yeah Jake a lot better." Van murmured, preparing himself for the upcoming kiss
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
The whole cinema was screaming now, including Jake and Van who were abruptly pulled out of their embrace.
"What the hell, was that?" Van was breathing heavily, not only from the shock
"It was a zombie, coming out from under the bed, what a lame joke." Shaun laughed louder than before
"Excuse me, I think I should go to the bathroom." Van made a hasty exit.
- VAN'S POV -
What was that?, Were we crazy?, here in the cinema, in front of my ex??? I mean he's straight, I mean he has to be, he looked so damn good. And all our fan girls have a crush on him, including me.
Van went to the last stall and peed in the toilet. When he was done, he flushed the toilet and went to the sinks.
He washed his hands, when thoughts about Jake and the almost kiss flooded his mind.
It's not special, I mean a half year ago at Adam's party, we were almost kissing too, but this black haired girl interrupted us, damn, how I hate her for that. All these fan girls interrupting us every time.
He looked in the mirror and studied his face.
Brown eyes, full lips, Jake told me months ago about his type of women. His description could fit on me too. Was he serious, did he really like those sort of girls? Slim waist, blonde hair, But I'm not a woman, I can't be a woman. I'm a guy with stubble and chest hair, I'm rough and not feminine.
"Hey Van, all clear?" Shaun stood in the door and looked at Van who was still looking in the mirror.
Oh great our second meeting here in the toilet
"What are you doing here, you will miss the movie?" Van sounded annoyed
"Van, I don't know how to say this, but you like this Jake guy a lot, don't you?"
"How do you know that?" Van was now looking in Shaun´s direction
"I know you Van, and I know when you like a man more than a friend."
Is it really that obvious, that I have feelings for my best friend?
"Look Shaun, I really don't know if Jake feels the same way about me." His voice got sad
"From where I sat, it really looked like that Jake was interested in you, and I mean not only in a friendship, you should try and tell him everything." Shaun headed a little bit in the men's room and was now standing next to Van.
"I can't." Van said, looking at his shoes
"Van, don't you want to take a risk, what could you loose?"
"His friendship, his trust...Shaun I really don't know." Van's voice got desperate
"Wait, let me help with your love life." Shaun suggested
"Yeah, you were always good with helping me in my love life, and I was the one who didn't loved you back."
"Van, this is over, I said, that I'm over you, you know that, I want to help you, please can I tell you my plan?" A grin appeared on Shaun's face
"Okay Shaun, what is it?"
- JAKE'S POV -
I'm so alone here in my seat, and I'm so confused right now. I really would love to go to the men's room, too. But I can't...this is probably too much for Van. And Shaun? Where is he? With Shaun in the men's room? Making out in one of the stalls? damn! No!
"Jake." Shaun came back and yelled Jake's name
"Hey, where is Van?"
"He's not feeling very well, I'm driving him home." Shaun grabbed Van's coat
,,WHAT??" Jake shouted, he couldn't believe this was real
"Look, he's waiting in my car, I have to hurry up, he'll call you tomorrow." Shaun made a hasty exit and was running away. Jake had no chance, Tyler was gone
"Shaun, wait." Jake shouted into the full dark cinema
Shaun was running so fast as he could to his own car, where Van was waiting
He opened the door and slid into the car
"How did he react, was he angry?" Asked a very curious Van
"Yeah you could say that, he seemed very angry." Tyler started the motor and they drove out of the car park.
"Oh my god, this was so mean." Van felt bad for his friend
"Van, you don't have to feel guilty, it was my plan, I instigated it." Shaun reassured him
They drove all they way to Van's apartment
Yes, I know but I feel really sorry for him, I mean he's my best friend."
"But it's a good way, to find it out, I bet he will knock on your door soon." Shaun grinned
"After our almost kiss, I don't know what I'm going to do."
Shaun was right, Van hadn't been at home more than an hour and there was a knock on his door.
Damn, I'm already in my pyjama pants, I can't face him now. Van made his way to the door
At first he stood there and hoped the knocking would go away, but it failed and the knocking only got louder.
"Van, it's me Jake, are you awake please let me in." Jake's voice sounded despaired
"Oh my god, its Jake." Van flustered to himself
"Van please, I know your home." The knocking got louder
Van finally opened the door and saw an exhausted Jake standing there.
Jake abruptly rushed in Van's apartment and pulled him in his arms, he was still exhausted and breathed in deep.
"Jake, what's going, why are you so sweaty?"
"I ran.... down..... the last five blocks, Van are you okay, is.... everything alright, what did he do to you." Jake pulled him
even closer
"Jake, everything is okay." Van rubbed his hands over Jake's back
"God....when I heard him say he would drive you home and that you were sick, I was so afraid, why didn't you tell
me?" Jake pulled away from Van
"I'm sorry Jake, I couldn't tell you, Shaun didn't let me." Van couldn't tell Jake the whole truth about his fast escape with
Tyler. He was scared of Jake's reaction
"Do you want something to drink?" Van asked
"No, I want something else."
"What else? I ran out of Chinese." Van tried to step away, but Jake was faster and caught his hand
"No not Chinese, I need this."
In one fast move he pulled Van again in his own space
"Ja...." Van couldn't speak
"In the cinema, we got interrupted, but here...."
Van was breathing heavy as Jake pressed himself against him
"Van I don't know what i'm doing now, I have wanted this for so long, please let me."
And then all doubts were fading away, as Jake's lips found Van's
It was a really short kiss, a quick peck right on Van's full lips, Jake had to make sure, that Van was okay with that, so he
was careful.
Jake stumbled away and breathing heavily, he had to lean on the wall, he didn't really want to fall
"Jake, that was....was...." Van standing a little bit away from Jake, touching his own lips
"Wrong, yeah totally wrong, I should go now." Jake had his hand on the doorknob, ready to leave.
"Jake, no, wait" Van followed his costar to the door
"Please, Van, it's okay, now let me leave." He fumbled on the doorknob
"No Jake, stay, I want you to stay with me." Van exclaimed
"What?"
Van ignored Jake's "What?" and pressed him against the door, soon both of them were kissing hard against the door.
When they had to breathe again, Jake gazed at Van's swollen lips
"You don't want this?" Van's voice was so little
"Oh god Van, you have no idea how much I want this, I wanted this months ago, but do you want this?"
"As much, as you do!" Van grinned playing with his hair
"I mean, it's not a game, I...I mean it with my heart, I have feelings for you Van, I....I want you, I need you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Jake's word rushed out of his mouth
"Jake, I...I feel the same way about you, I have done for months." Van was relieved, that he finally told Jake the whole truth about his feelings for him
"Why didn't you say anything?
"I couldn't, you were always saying you were straight, I never expected you to kiss me!"
Van turned away from Jake, with a sad look on his face
"Me either, but I couldn't resist you." Jake's words were earnest
Van turned around, he was now ready to tell Jake the entire truth about him and Shaun
"And the thing with Shaun....I'm so sorry for that, it was his plan to leave you alone in the cinema, he wanted to see, if you got jealous.
"The plan seemed successful" Jake added "I have a plan too." He smiled, stepped to Van and pulled him again in his arms
"What's the plan?" Van asked
"I will forgive you, if you go with me to the cinema again, but this time only you and me."
"A date?"
"Yeah, a date, a real date."
